Frail and Elderly People & Cancer

Frail and Elderly People Living with and Beyond Cancer

Elevator Statement :

The Frail and Elderly Living With and Beyond Cancer Intelligence Programme is designed to help NHS organisations better understand and support one of the most vulnerable and fastest-growing groups within cancer care: older people living with cancer who are also experiencing frailty, falls risk, multiple long-term conditions and reduced independence.

By combining Cancer Quality of Life Survey (CQOLS) data with frailty, falls, cancer prevalence and demographic datasets, the programme identifies where support needs may be greatest and helps organisations develop more proactive, personalised and preventative approaches to care.

The aim is not simply to help people survive cancer, but to help them remain independent, active and well for as long as possible.
