Late Effects of Radiotherapy

Late Effects of Radiotherapy

Elevator Statement :

The Late Effects of Radiotherapy Intelligence Programme is designed to help NHS organisations better understand the long-term physical, emotional and functional consequences experienced by cancer survivors following radiotherapy treatment.

Using the National Cancer Quality of Life Survey (CQOLS), together with cancer prevalence, treatment and population datasets, the programme identifies indicators associated with potential late effects burden and estimates where support services may be most needed.

The aim is to move beyond treating cancer alone and ensure that people who survive cancer receive appropriate support for the long-term consequences of treatment.
